Summer’s heat is putting up it’s last fight, and I haven’t really felt like touching yarn a lot in these temperatures. I dusted off my jewelry making supplies, made up this bracelet last week, and really liked how it turned out so I decided to share the tutorial here, in case you too are looking for something a little cooler to work on while this heat sticks around.
The memory wire bracelet is a really simple, fun, and easy project that any beginner can master. If you want to make one just like this- good news! I’ve got a limited number of DIY kits available! Or you can head to your local craft store to pick up what you will need to make your own memory wire bracelets!
Supplies needed:
Memory wire for beading
Jewelry pliers
Wire cutter
Seed beads
Stick pearls
Grab the DIY kit here– it comes with everything you need to make the bracelet, and makes a great gift!
Step 1:
At one end of the memory wire, bend the wire backwards, forming a closed loop. This will keep your beads from sliding off the bracelet.
Step 2:
String beads. Alternate a pattern of 9 seed beads, then 6 pearls until bracelet reaches desired length, ending with 6 pearls.
Step 3:
Cut the wire near the beads, leaving about 1/3 inch. Bend wire backwards forming a closed loop, keeping the beads from sliding off of the wire.
To wear:
The wire will automatically adjust to any size- which is what I love about memory wire! It’s the perfect project for any beginner, and is so relaxing to slide the beads in a lovely repeating pattern. Memory wire also comes in necklace sizes- so if you’re feeling really ambitious you could make a matching necklace.
